Olympic Dam Netball Club
The origins of the Olympic Dam Netball club go back to the old social competitions that the Leisure Centre ran. “Blues” was formed over the seasons, leading up to 2002 the Blues A Grade Netball team had been quite successful. Due to player numbers growing it was decided to develop another team named Redbacks, with some Blues players moving to the new Redbacks team in 2002. Redbacks also became very successful, in 2003 the Redbacks became OD Redbacks (black, red and white).
OD Football Club were asked to sponsor the netballers by contributing to new uniforms and so agreed to go with Green and Gold from 2005, during this year OD devils competed with A and B grade teams. Over these years the OD A grade team was very successful winning the Premiership 5 years in a row!
In 2006 the Roxby Downs Netball Association became incorporated and OD Devils moved over to playing in the RDNA competition.
RDNA competition introduced C Grade in 2010, OD has had at least one C grade team since, along with a D grade for the first time in 2017.
